16.85 lakh students have registered for the CUET UG 2023 Exam: UGC Chairman

University Grants Commission, UGC and National Testing Agency, NTA will be conducting the Common University Entrance Test, CUET UG 2023 Exam from May 21, 2023. UGC Chairman, M Jagadesh Kumar has revealed that around 16.85 lakh students have registered for the CUET UG Exam.
Compared to the registrations of CUET 2022, there is an increase in participation by 41 percent. In 2022, around 12.50 lakh students registered for the CUET exam, and 9.9 lakh students have submitted their applications.
In 2023 CUET-UG, a total of 16.85 lakh students registered,” stated the UGC Chairman today, April 4, 2023.
“Out of 16.85 lakhs, 13.995 lakhs paid the application fee and submitted the application form—an increase of 4 lakh students,” the UGC Chairman added further.
As per the official exam schedule, the CUET 2023 UG Exam will be held from May 21 to 31, 2023. On Monday, UGC told all universities and colleges to reserve its facilities to be used for the entrance exams. NTA and UGC has also kept June 1 to 7, 2023 as reserve dates for the CUET UG Exam.
For CUET UG 2022, various technical and administrative problems results in multiple cancellations and delays in the exam. NTA and UGC are hopeful towards the smooth conduct of the CUET Exam this year.
The registration process began on February 9, 2023. Candidates were given time till March 12, 2023 to apply for the for the CUET exam. However, this last date was then extended till March 30, 2023. The exam city slip is expected to be released in the last week of April.
