The price of commercial liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders was slashed by Rs 115.50 on Tuesday (November 1).
After the reduction, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder would now cost Rs 1,744 in Delhi, Rs 1,846 in Kolkata and Rs 1,696 in Mumbai and Rs 1,893 in Chennai.
19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in #Guwahati will now cost Rs 1,928 per cylinder.
However, there was no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. The price of a non-subsidised 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Guwahati stands at Rs 1,102.
The price of LPG cylinders is revised monthly for all states and union territories in India. The prices vary from city to city depending on the incidence of local taxes such as VAT.the middle of the month.
Oil marketing companies in the country sells 14.2 kg cylinders to domestic households at the prices prevalent in the open market, but the centre provides subsidies for 12 such cylinders to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) each year through a direct benefit transfer to their bank accounts.
