SED asks teachers to campaign door to door to enhance enrolment

The department has asked the respective teachers of those schools having student enrolment in between 3-10 to ensure the enrolment of 10 students to evade the disciplinary action for performing poorly.

Srinagar: Following the merger of government schools with an enrolment of less than three students, the School Education Department (SED) has asked its teacher to hold a door-to-door campaign to enhance the learner enrollment.

The department has asked the respective teachers of those schools having student enrolment in between 3-10 to ensure the enrolment of 10 students to evade the disciplinary action for performing poorly.

The Principal Secretary to government for School Education Department, B K Singh in a meeting has said, “In case of the primary schools with an enrollment of 3-10, it was decided to direct the teachers of such schools to enhance the enrollment of students through the door to door campaign under Mega Enrollment Drive (MED) since the very objective of creation of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) Cadre was to ensure the universal access of students.”

Singh has also said that every teacher of such schools will have to ensure the enrollment of 10 students otherwise some disciplinary action may be taken against the non-performing teachers.
