India Level Extempore Speech competition: Pir Panjal girl makes JK proud by bagging second position

Srinagar, June 25: A 19-year-old girl from Pir Panjal range has made Jammu and Kashmir proud by bagging the second position in all India level extempore speech competition.

Hailing from Kheora area of Rajouri, Ayesha Kousar said that more than 100 participants from different states of India participated in the virtual competition.

Pursuing her undergraduate course in Arts stream, Ayesha is a first year student of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri.

She said that the participants were given two topics for the speech including politics and public administration.

“I chose to speak about public administration and highlighted the government’s efforts in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic situation. I also spoke about the initiative and modifications our administration took in upgrading the medical infrastructure.”

“I spoke about the drawbacks of the pandemic that has not only hit the economy of India and other countries of the world but also caused a huge academic loss to the students globally,” Ayesha said.

Ayesha, who has been one of the toppers in her 12th standard, said that she is also preparing for the UPSC exams.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri, Dr Mohmmad Saleem said that Ayesha is a very bright student and has been among the toppers of 10th and 12th standard.

Saleem said, “Ayesha has not only excelled in the field of academics but in other competitions and exams also.”

 “Usually, you could see Ayesha in libraries or somewhere in fruitful quizzes,” he adds.

He went on to say that the whole management of the college is proud of her and are expecting more awards from her in other fields also

The competition was organised by Lovely Professional University (LPU) Punjab.
