Foreign exchange students that have been suffering from financial problems will be given 100,000 yen ($860) by Japan.
This has been confirmed by the Japanese prime minister, Fumio Kishida, and published by the public broadcaster NHK.

Japan Prime Minister To Award 100,000 Yen To Foreign Exchange Students
Japan will be helping foreign students that have been studying in Japanese universities, colleges, and vocational schools, as per the report. Students who have been affected financially by the COVID-19 pandemic will be awarded 100,000 yen ($860)
As per the Prime Minister, Fumio Kashida, the country will come up with a new scheme that will give priority for foreign students to enter Japan.
For those unaware, $1 is equal to 115.9100 yen.
We recently reported that as a major shift for a country long closed to immigrants, Japan has decided to allow foreigners in certain blue-collar jobs to stay indefinitely. This decision will come into effect as early as the 2022 fiscal year.
Previously, under a 2019 law, a category of “specified skilled workers” in 14 sectors such as farming, nursing care, and sanitation have been granted visas. But stays of immigrants have been limited to five years and without family members for workers in all but the construction also shipbuilding sectors.
Various companies had cited these restrictions for their hesitancy to hire immigrant labor.
Japan To Introduce A 4-Day Working Week?
Additionally, Japan is planning to introduce a 4 day working week for all the employees. The government’s motive behind this initiative is to ensure a work life balance for the entire country.
Salaried employees of Japan have been encouraged to reduce the amount of time that is spent in the office.
Japan has recently introduced some new annual economic policy guidelines that include new recommendations which suggest that companies should implement the four day working week instead of the regular five.
The usually rigid and additional Japanese corporations have already been greatly modified due to the coronavirus pandemic.
