New Covid Varient Comming Soon likely to be more infectious then Omicron Virus
Omicron will not be the last variant and the next variant of concern is likely to be more transmissible. the World Health Organization has said, warning against complacency in following Covid appropriate protocol.
The big question is whether or not future variants will be more or less severe,” said Maria Van Kerkhove, Covid-19 technical lead at WHO. WHO also said that it is likely that there will
be more immune escape. making the existing vaccines less effective against new variants, even as it emphasised on vaccination to protect against severe disease and deaths. “We do not want to be in that situation. So. we want to make sure that we reduce the spread.” she said.
“We expect that with the right interventions. the circulation of Govid-19 will be low. But even within those circulations, there will be flare-ups among people who are not protected by the vaccine or those who have waning immunity.” added Kerkhove.
She also warned that the world may see seasonal patterns for infection surges, as the coronavirus is a respiratory pathogen.
